Services
My consulting practice combines over 2 decades of education and experience on the front lines as a counsellor, teacher, sexual health educator and circus coach/director/producer. I approach my work through a trauma-informed lens, and seek to infuse emotional literacy, psycho-education, and importance of remembering our humanity to all the services I provide. My workshops and presentations are always interactive, and I ensure participants get great value for their investment with not only a goal to inspire lives, but to leave people with tools, joy, and meaningful learning.

Sexual Health Education
I approach Sexual Health Education from a human rights perspective, offering up-to-date, inclusive, and factual information on a variety of topics in a open and fun environment. As a certified BC teacher (K-12), and a trained Sexual Health Educator with a Counselling background (Guidance Counsellor and in private practice), I am well versed in the Health curriculum and incorporate specific graduation competencies in all my lessons. Students and classroom teachers are offered evaluative measures of learning competencies to use for assessment at the end of my lessons. I provide comprehensive packages that can be collaboratively created for schools based on your specific needs. I am also available to teachers, educators, community members and parents to create Professional Development or "Askable Adult" Workshop opportunities in Sexual Health. My list of lesson plans topics are examples but are not exhaustive, as the topics often depend on the focus areas you want me to design for you. I also use a cross-curricular approach, so that teachers from different subject specialties can collaborate on the same over-all Health or Competency topic. This approach makes learning smoother and more absorptive for students across the curriculum. It binds staff and creates deeper learning.
Professional Development and Keynote Speaking
As a Counsellor, Teacher, and Sexual Health Educator, who has created many engaging programs over my career, supported staff through various community crises, and listened to thousands of students' needs in a thriving counselling program, I have realised that every institution has an elephant in the room--that topic that everyone sees but don't know how to address in a constructive, inspiring, and helpful way. My passion is in helping build community through honest reflection and meaningful engagement, with the focus on children and youth and building capacity in their adult community. Whether presenting to a student audience or professionals, the outcome is the same: bringing people together to address the elephant in the room. Are educators properly equipped with current Sexual Health and Development resources and language? Are students truly feeling like they belong? Do they truly feel safe? Are staff isolated? Do staff need connection to improve workplace wellbeing? Is there a school motto and community focus that is lost or missing? Is your staff truly trauma informed? Do students not use the wonderful resources you have, and do you want to figure out what the barrier is to increase engagement? Are parking lot conversations gifts that can serve your school? Are students vaping in the bathroom but you can't seem to stop them? Are issues of consent and sexual assault tucked away in a hiding place? Are professional and self diagnoses of ADHD and other mental health conditions ready to be addressed through psycho education? Is there an elephant in the room that, if addressed with professional care, can serve to enhance your community and improve health? My keynote presentations support people who work directly with children and youth (educators, parents, social workers, school counsellors, behaviour specialists), and serve to identify and positively address your "elephant in the room". Through this process, I create a keynote, professional health workshops, and interactive presentations that are specific to your community’s needs.
Workplace Culture
Through Circus Arts
This option offers schools and communities a dynamic and experiential approach to strengthening workplace culture and education using circus arts. I bring circus to you, and we use it as a tool for connection while also developing an array of life skills. I offer circus arts to support an increased sense of belonging, connection, and trust. Naturally, circus builds teamwork, leadership, boundaries, self awareness, and collaboration in a fun, relaxed, but exciting environment. Circus can be a fun way to help us see our strengths, while also helping people identify personal and professional blindspots. Participants learn the language of consent and true engagement, and can even learn about problem areas within our environment/culture/self that limits our growth. Circus reminds us of the importance of grit, humility, fun and emotional, physical, and emotional safety. through the "P's of Circus" (Positivity, Participation, Practice, Patience, Perseverance, Pain (the good kind), and Pass-it-on (helping one another grow). Circus can first break down social barriers, before breaking down the fundamentals of "learning how to learn" at a time when apathy is at an all time high. Engage students and staff through circus!
